What is the story behind the name Worthy?
The owner of the company, Worthy, is a woman in long term addiction recovery. She chose the name Worthy so she could battle the stigma that can, and often does, get applied to people who struggle with the disease of addiction.
Why are the products called spreads and not jams?
Jam is a standardized product under the Canadian Food Inspection Agency. This means that any product labelled as ājamā must meet specific requirements (and limitations). Worthy products do not meet these specifications because of our additional ingredients, such as cardamom, earl grey tea, lavender and vanilla extract in addition to the standardized fruit, water, and pectin! The CFIA also mandates that any jam shall not contain rhubarb or apple.Ā
